In which Phnee is tempted by the shiny...

Depending on the state of my finances when I check them tonight, I think I shall finally invest in a digital camera tomorrow. I have wanted one for three years now, possibly more, and since the overtime fairy will be paying me a visit next week, I think I can finally afford one. I won't feel guilty about it, either, because it will be well-loved and much-used.
That way I shall be able to document the vermicomposting process in loving detail, as well as any future project I choose tobore you with write about.
We shall see...

Date: 2007-01-19 02:15 am (UTC)When she told me the office worms were mostly fed on coffee grounds, I had a field day: I kept imagining tons of tiny, hyper little worms building cubicles and rushing around hiring and firing each other. ;)

Date: 2007-01-19 01:33 am (UTC)1) the memory cards included are always pathetically small, so you'll want to buy a larger card as soon as you can. (Until then, you can set the camera for relatively low resolution, and thus fit more pics on the card.)
2) NiMH (nickle-metal hydride) rechargeable batteries + a recharger = very good idea. They'll take a ton more photos than your standard batts, and save the environment too.
Have fun!

Date: 2007-01-19 04:45 pm (UTC)Future shop is currently selling them for cheap (39 bucks for 1gig, 50 bucks for 2gig). I just picked up a 1 gig for my PDA.
They MAY be cheaper elsewhere, I haven't really looked much more than casually.
I will also second the comment on the NiMH batteries and charger combo...absolutely essential if your Cam uses regular AA batteries.

Date: 2007-01-19 09:08 am (UTC)I like going through photo albums which is not something you do systematically with digital photos because the photos are on your hard drive, the feeling is different.
If you have a nice memory card, you can do like 500 photos or even more, that's unbelievable and it's true !
Take care
