Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Bigfoot!
Aug. 8th, 2003 10:43 am*runs in circles*
Am finishing the last of my packing for the weekend at Bigfoot! Hu-aaaah!
Like last year (and the year before, although I wasn't involved that time), we will be participating in tomorrow's Mega Wargame. Bwah!
We get to run around like maniacs in the woods and shoot people full of paint. The people you know who are going? Me,
fearsclave (the instigator),
firewillow, and
fishstalker (Firewillow's husband), and
rotagar and his brother. The others are not LiveJournal-enabled, although I'm sure Fire and I can convert a few of them this weekend. ;)
We will be close to sixteen in all. We were twelve last year and they were nine the year before. Ph34r our m4d l33t p41ntb4ll sk1llz!
This is us last year, when we were going by the name Project Mayhem (yes,
fearsclave has identified a wee bit overmuch with Fight Club).

This year we will choose a different moniker, because the people who run the place are francophones and can't pronounce it to save their lives. ;)
This year we're also planning on winning the uniform contest. There's one every year (it works by acclaim), and the winners get a lifetime membership at Bigfoot, worth about $375. We came in second last year to a bunch of people in over-the-top cammos, and as
fearsclave put it, we wuz robbed. Well, we *do* look very badass all in Canadian army black. ;) This year we're trying to accomplish a more uniform look, with everyone in BDU hats (except
rotagar who hates them, and he'll be wearing another hat) and black hockey jerseys, and we've even got cheap badass-looking sunglasses to complement the look. *cheerful cackle*
Now all I have left to do is pack my toothbrush and hairbrush and maybe some toothpaste, then I'm off to collect
firewillow. After all,
fearsclave is doing the one thing that could make this weekend rock more than it already does, and is running a Mage game for us today at The Shack.
w00t!

Date: 2003-08-10 04:08 pm (UTC)If you're doing an SG costume, you're probably want to go for US BDU's; Battle Dress, Uniform. There are a few online sites which you could order from, or at the very least, window shop.
IMS-plus.com has a huge selection of BDUs in assorted colours and camo patterns: click here for details. They also have a good selection of A.L.I.C.E. webgear.
USCav.com also has a good selection of stuff, including more kinds of boots than you can shake a stick at. Pity they're so pricey.
And by the way...
Date: 2003-08-10 04:15 pm (UTC)Would it, perchance, be something along the lines of "I just spent a half hour hunting the tank"?
She did good *beams*.
