The Mission Objectives:
1 -- Leave a comment, saying you want to be interviewed.
2 -- I will respond; I'll ask you five questions.
3 -- You'll update your journal with my five questions, and your five answers.
4 -- You'll include this explanation.
5 -- You'll ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed.

1 - If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

In the country, in a large house, with lots of critters. The country isn't important, but I'd like my friends to be within a reasonable distance. :)

2 - What is your ideal job?

Ideally? I'd be a full-time novellist or journalist. My own schedule (more or less), with a couple of deadlines to keep me in order, and a halfway decent salary.

3 - You come face to face with the first person to break your heart. What do they say to you? How do you respond?

I don't think anyone's ever broken my heart in the way you're thinking. If it was the person who swears I've broken their heart, then he'd probably want to re-hash everything that happened when the relationship died in a passive-aggressive way. He'd make me feel as guilty as possible, and then assure me that he didn't want an apology, but merely to understand why I did what I did, because he's convinced it's because I don't want to be happy. If I wanted to be happy, you see, I'd want to be with him.

I don't know what I'd say to him. I've often wanted to tell him that I regret what happened, even if I won't apologize for my behaviour. I did the best I knew how, under the circumstances. If I could go back and do it differently, I would. The end result would be the same, it might just be less painful. Or, knowing him, it might not.

4 - You are allowed to change one event in history, what would it be?

Dude, you're getting into quantum mechanics and grandfather paradoxes there, which makes me uneasy. I'd change something small, I think. One of the many, many poor decisions I made growing up. Less chance of screwing up the entire universe that way. ;)

5 - What did you want to be when you grew up?

At what age?

When I was four, I proudly announced to my godfather that I wanted to be a garbage man. I thought they were just the coolest thing ever because they got to ride on the big truck.

When I was ten I wanted to be a veterinarian.

When I was fourteenI wanted to be a naturalist like Gerald Durrell (I read all his books in a year).

When I was sixteen I decided I would probably become a university teacher. That's the one that stuck the longest, but it was sort of a default, because I knew that once you have a Ph. D in literature, there's not much else you can do.

Right now I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.
