The phone will not bite me if I use it.

The person at the other end of the line does not care if I sound like an idiot. Yes, they may think I'm an idiot and laugh, but they will have forgotten me within minutes. At worst, I will become one of the impersonal stories they tell to their friends to get a laugh out of them for years to come. But it will be impersonal.

The phone is not my enemy.

I have no logical reason to be frikking pathologically afraid to make a telephone call to someone I don't know.

This is stupid.

I have three important phone calls to make today, and the longer I put this off, the worse it'll get. The worse I feel, the longer it'll take to make the phone calls, and the worse I'll feel. Do we see where this is going?

This sucks.

Ditto what she said. I have to make two calls today. To complicate matters, in order to call I have to leave campus and walk into town (due to no long distance calls from the room and no cell phone coverage on campus).

I have the same problem and i know a few other people that do to, it is more common than i thought. As ladytabatha said if you get over it tell me how as well.
