More television woes...
Mar. 4th, 2004 02:51 amSo, as it turns out, not only is every single season finale of Stargate up until Season 5 a cliffhanger, according to
joane, but I went online to look up Farscape to at least get a synopsis of what happens in that episode I'm going to miss.
Turns out it's part of ANOTHER three-or-four episode story arc that —wait for — spans from Season 2 into Season 3.
Yes, folks, Farscape has joined the ranks of those shows that do cliffhanger season finales.
*beats head against wall*
It's a good thing I don't actually get the Space channel. Otherwise this might actually be a big problem for me. ;)
Here are the good things about not having money:
1- I can't afford cable, and thus don't get the Space channel. Thus, I don't have the frustration of cliffhanger endings to Stargate and Farscape.
2- I can't afford to buy Farscape on DVD as it comes out. I think only Season 1 is out right now. Thus, once again, I am spared the evilness of cliffhangers.
No, really. You have no idea how much this gets on my nerves. I realise that this is probably just a really huge blinking pink neon sign that says PHNEE NEEDS A LIFE, but I hate not knowing how television shows end. Not the whole show, but individual episodes. Yes, I like to know how a series works out in the end, but somehow the bigger picture doesn't have the same nagging, worrying effect on me that not completing a single story does.
Anyway, I found my synopsis, and luckily for me Farscape is well into Season 4, so I was able to find out more or less how the arc resolves itself.
I would like to clarify, however, that this does not mean that I welcome spoilers about television shows. Sometimes I want them, but that's rare. I like to be surprised, but I generally froth at the mouth when I have to wait six months for the surprise (may to october). Or, worse, have the series cancelled and never know what the surprise is.
If I were reasonably certain that I would be able, within a short span of time, to see the aforementioned episodes of Farscape in order, then I probably wouldn't have sought out a synopsis on the web. But, since that's unlikely, I had to make do with the next best thing.
