Okay, I'm a sheep, but we knew that
Dec. 21st, 2003 01:18 pm1. What did you do in 2003 that you'd never done before? I dated a girl.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I don't think I made firm resolutions, so I didn't keep them, no.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Yep.
4. Did anyone close to you die? Yep.
5. What countries did you visit? Just the U.S.
6. What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003? Stable finances and my mental health, please? That would be nice.
7. What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? August 31st, which is the day two of my best friends got married. :)
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Achievement? Hah. None that I can think of, unless you count quitting my job.
9. What was your biggest failure? I guess it would be financial, although there isn't *one* specific moment of failure. I just spent the year failing at it.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Oh yeah. Illness up the wazoo. Most of it mental.
11. What was the best thing you bought? I *did* get a scanner in a moment of relative financial ease. That was nice. I still use it.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration? My friends'. They all rock. So many of them have put up with so much this year and still kept going.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? My own. Occasionally my parents'.
14. Where did most of your money go? On my car and my apartment.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Coming out. That was exciting. Dating women too. That's pretty damned exciting.
16. What song will always remind you of 2003? Songs don't remind me of years, sorry.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? You're asking the manic-depressive that?
ii. thinner or fatter? Fatter.
iii. richer or poorer? About the same, actually, since last year Bell Mobility fucked up my paycheck, which meant I had no money in the bank and my credit card was maxed out.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Lots and lots of things.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of? I don't know how to answer that question.
20. How will you be spending Christmas? With my parents.
21. Who did you spend the most time on the phone with? Clients.
22. Did you fall in love in 2003? I started, but the process kind of got cut short. :/
23. How many one-night stands? Uh, none?
24. What was your favorite TV program? I don't have a TV. The only show I watched with any regularity was Six Feet Under every Sunday with my friends, so that's officially my favourite. :)
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? I don't have the energy to waste on hating people. There are a few people with whom I don't get along in the same way, though.
26. What was the best book you read? Couldn't say. Too many to choose from.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery? No discoveries per se, but I got reacquainted with Bizet, which was nice.
28. What did you want and get? A scanner. (Yes, I'm being materialistic)
29. What did you want and not get? A whole bunch of things. It was a financially frustrating year.
30. What was your favorite film of this year? I think I'll have to go with LotR. Then again, I didn't watch very many this year. PotC comes in a close second, though.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? I was 24, and I honestly don't remember what I did. I don't really celebrate my birthday. I think my parents must have made dinner for me. It's what usually happens.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Winning the lottery. :P
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2003? I beg your pardon?
34. What kept you sane? Sane? *snort* *giggle*
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? So many... I'd say a three-way tie between Orlando Bloom, Johnny Depp, and Miranda Otto. She may become my latest obsession, I think...
36. What political issue stirred you the most? Gay marriage.
37. Who did you miss? Me.
38. Who was the best new person you met? No fair! Too many! Prospero's Daughter and
lux80 spring to mind first, but they're not the only ones!
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2003: No matter how bad it gets, remember that it can always get worse.
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year: I might get back to this one later. I don't think I can sum up this year in one sentence/lyric.
