*sigh* Back at work...

Mind-numbing, soul-sucking work. Gotta love it.

Woke up at 6:30 this morning and puttered around a lot. Fed the cats, took a bath, washed hair. Nothing spectacular, but it was nice to be able to take my time instead of sprinting out the door in an effort to get to work on time.

Working until 8pm tonight, so no SCA. *pout*

Work is busy as all hell today. 254 calls waiting when I got online, and 1, 467 people manning the lines. It's only started getting *slightly* quieter now, and even that doesn't last very long. There has been a steady stream of calls all morning, and even now there are still about 40 new people waiting in the queue. Feh.

I don't know what it is, maybe it's the time of year, but I have never felt more like quitting than I do today. One thing is for certain: if I can help it, after this job I will never ever ever ever work in customer service again, or at least not in this type of environment.

*deals with yet another annoyed client*

I think I'd be a lot happier if I actually felt as though I were *helping* people in this job, as opposed to merely using them or placating them or being the one Bell Mobility uses to rape them up the @ss. Oh, my, was that vulgar? I'm so sorry. :P

No, I'm not bitter and cynical.

Damnit, I want to quit today and go open up my own bed and breakfast. I might be in the hole financially for the next ten billion years, but at least I wouldn't be miserable and put-upon.

*wanders off, muttering dire imprecations at clients*

hey, hotel customers (even B&B ones) can be just as much of a hassle. And you have to deal with them in person, for extended periods of time. Think about the kinds of people who use B&B's. Mostly, yuppies. Not always the most considerate bunch.

True, but at least I would make my own hours and my own rules, and I could kick the yuppies out of my home if I really wanted. ;)
