I wonder if the mood shouldn't read "nauseous" and not "nauseated." But maybe I'm nitpicking.

Will do proper update in a bit, when my body is no longer revolting against me.

Not sure if it's due to missing my meds for two days or simply food poisoning, but at 6:30 (well, it started around 5:45 or so) my body decided that, what the hell, it didn't really need that lunch anyway, and proceeded to expell it with an impressive amount of force.

Luckily I had just finished work.

I wonder if it's a contagious thing via LJ. Reading my friends list today I have made the following observations:

- 4 of my friends have thrown out or otherwise harmed their backs
- 3 of them have either vomited or suffered from nausea
- 3 friends have injured their leg and/or are suffering from foot or leg pain
- 5 friends have headaches
- 6 friends are sick with other things that don't fall into those categories

That's a lot of badness, folks! What is it with us today?

Actually...

nau·seous
adj.

1. Causing nausea; sickening: “the most nauseous offal fit for the gods” (John Fowles).
2. Usage Problem. Affected with nausea. Traditional critics have insisted that nauseous is properly used only to mean “causing nausea” and that it is incorrect to use it to mean “affected with nausea,” as in Roller coasters make me nauseous.

versus

nauseated

adj : feeling nausea; feeling about to vomit

So I think LJ has it right. Call the newspapers.

This is what I was taught, as well ... that "nauseous" refers to the inducement of nausea and "nauseated" refers to the experience of nausea.

I always say that I'm feeling "nauseated", rather than "nauseous". Because I'm a word nerd. :)

When in doubt, select the simplest version of the mood icons. "Sick", in this case. ;)

I've caused injury to myself by sheer clumsiness in the last couple of days. And every time I hurt myself, I think, "Ooh, I hope that heals before the wedding". ;) I'm also having the sniffles and scratchy throat of a budding cold... I think I got it while speaking on the phone with my sick sick mom last night. Or she gave it to me when she helped me clean on Thursday. Yeah.

We're all just a bunch of whiny hypochondriacs. We should try and do lunch sometime in the near future.

add another one to the 'friends who are sick with other things.." or maybe I fit in the nauseated category..

ironically I have two friends who have just run over their daughter's foot with a vehicle.. one with her car and one with her stroller. Weird coincidence.

Yes, well at least one of those friends (me) falls into 2 if not 3 of those categories...

Never mind the fact that I think I'm mentally out of whack...

I don't count mental illness as that's a prerequisite for all my LJ friends. ;)

And yes, I counted you in two of those categories. :)

If you added 'stomach trouble' to the 'nausea/vomit' list, I could fit into three of them...

As for mental illness being a prerequisite for your LJ friends... how do the people you know IRL feel about that? *g*

(never mind the fact that, sure, I'm crazy, but it's a good crazy. *g*)

Bah! You can add me to the list of headaches! I had a horrid migraine last night, and it's still not quite gone, but at least not horrible anymore.
