Mr. Rogers has passed away at the age of 74.

His show wasn't my favourite as a child, but somehow I always thought he'd go on forever, being a friendly and gentle neighbour.

I watched his show so that I could see what happened in the Land of Make–Believe.

Heaven has gained a kind, peaceful soul today. I just hope that, wherever he is, Mr. Rogers will continue feeding his fish until the end of time.

I was never really into Mr. Rogers, but that was a really sweet tribute. Just randomly thought I'd say so. :)

Aww, thanks.

Randomly, how've you been? Long time no speak. I guess I should be checking Reparo more often. >_

I've been okay. Busy. And it's okay about Reparo .

How're you?

Well, I had two days off and not much to show for it except a ton of LJ posts (as you may have noticed) and a few loads of laundry and clean dishes.

At this rate my apartment will be clean next December.

I met Mr.Rogers when we did a crossover episode on Arthur at CINAR.
The director, Greg Bailey and I sat through an episode of his show (Which I was never really into either, I was a Sesame Street kid and watched Mr. Dressup). We took ages to come up with a caricature of him which ended up being a sort of droopy hound dog.
Finally Marc Brown himself did one up of Rogers as an Aardvark which we ended up using. I liked my own better, but when the CREATOR speaks...
Anyway, Mr. Rogers was getting a tour of the studio with a TV crew following him around. When I saw him I called out.
"HEY! Mr. ROGERS!" I yelled, (Not realizing that they were shooting) "I did some designs of you, come and see!"
They hurried over from the paint department Director Bailey in tow, and I laid out a few of the rejected versions. Hehehe, he was pretty excited by the whole thing. He started asking me all kinds of questions and after Greg and he moved on, the TV crew stopped and asked me some questions as well. I think I gave him some of the older pictures, I don't remember. We appeared on a Pulse News spot that evening.

He was as drawling and slow in person as he was on television, that is, unless he was keeping up his persona for the sake of the news crew. Who knows. He was a nice guy. A bit weird... but who isn't, really, eh?
