Being productive is hard!
Aug. 28th, 2002 06:53 pmAm cleaning out apartment, top to bottom, slowly but surely. Am curiously unmotivated (huh), but at the same time weirdly motivated. Is bizarre.
Follow the link if you really want to read a rather long description of my plans/activities that involve housekeeping. It's *really* long and pretty boring unless you like that kind of thing. Martha Stewart might want to read it for the entertainment factor. ;)
So far am about 25% done. Haven't quite finished tossing out all the garbage, but that's a large part of the battle. The cats have decided once again that Mummy has gone nuts. PanPan is hiding under the bed, and George has been dashing about wildly like a cat possessed, pouncing on everything in his path.
Once the garbage is done, I'll be sweeping and swiffing floors (when did that actually become a word, I wonder?), and when that's done I'm going to get started on some laundry. I'll need clean clothes if I'm to go to North Hatley for the entire weekend.
I'm also going to rearrange my bedroom according to the Feng Shui book's directions.
Another pressing issue is the bathroom. It is in dire (although not as dire as last time) need of cleaning with a big pile of Comet and Vim and what have you. Still, it's not that daunting. It's small and responds well to cleaning agents. I may even pour some Draino into the tub in the hopes of unclogging whatever the previous tenants left down there which makes it drain so poorly (I hope it's not a dead mouse, which would explain why the cats always stare down the drain while lying in the tub).
I found a reddish–brown bath mat which I've put into the bathroom, and I think that counts partially as a fire remedy, so I'm quite pleased with that particular effort.
firewillow suggested I get bath candles, and I'm enthused about that. Also found some more towels (you can never have enough towels I've discovered).
I'll take another break once all that's done and assess the situation then.
