Somehow seems to match my mood of feeling hyper and giddy while at the same time having this vaguely panicky feeling...
MU is feeling better now. Has decided to let me keep washer & dryer until the end of May, so less of a rush on that front.
Going to see grandfather soon, who's been in a coma. Paternal Unit finally made himself known to us this morning. He's coming back on the next plane and should be here this afternoon.
This is tearing the family apart. Extended family, that is. Youngest aunt is refusing to come over from France, claiming she has to look after her husband, who's been having back problems of late. Second-youngest brother, who lives in Montreal, says he's only coming to funeral but not to bedside. Other aunt and uncles flipping out, and true to form the venom is flying. That side of the family has never been into decorum and dignity, which is probably the main reason the MU can't stand them.
Naturally she's in a state because they keep calling her to give her messages for my father, whom until recently we couldn't reach. They have an incredible knack for pushing all her buttons, so I've been in damage–control mode all morning.
Besides which, WW's daughter, KW, apart from having leukemia, also apparently had a severe allergic reaction to a packet of nuts yesterday, went into anaphylactic shock and came very close to slipping into a coma. She's okay for now, but has had to stop the injecions of Interferon, because her platelet count is so low, and this means the leukemia isn't being controlled while she recovers from this latest setback.
Poor girl. No one is supposed to know about the leukemia because she's afraid of losing her job, where she just got promoted. Can't believe how much this sucks for her. That whole family is having nothing but bad luck. WW herself is in remission from non–Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Oh well. I guess things have to get better from here. Having slept, things aren't looking quite so grim.
