Well, that sucked

Due to a technicality, I am not getting one of the permanent positions at work.

I thought I had successfully jumped through all the required flaming hoops, but it turns out I singed myself on the last one without realizing it.

To add insult to injury, the HR person told me to keep up the good work because she "hear[s] good things about [me]."

*resists urge to throttle*

There are many, many impolite words running through my mind right now, none of which I shall share with the Internets at large.
