Furniture and Stuff

So I am up and have been since 07:00. Sometime between 08:00 and 12:00 I will be receiving the delivery of my new patio furniture.

Today if the rain holds off I have some digging to do in the garden. Otherwise, I guess I'll putter around inside and try to get some cleaning done. Certainly I'm at the very least going to work on dishes and laundry.

I am definitely going to take a nap today, once the furniture is here. It's very annoying, but I'm always really tired after working night shift, and this week appears to be no exception. So, a nap feels like a good idea.

I really hope the rain holds off.

Cobra: The Musical III

Okay, I've narrowed my choices of which showing of Cobra: The Musical III I want to go to. Who wants to join me? If you're coming, pick which date you'd rather go on. The first is Sunday, the second is Tuesday. Tickets are $11.

Lilacs and furniture and yet more nesting...

I had dinner with my supervisor and his wife yesterday, and had a lovely time. I went there in order to get lilacs for the garden (he has a bunch overgrowing his yard), and they are currently trying to find a foothold in my garden. We had a great time: he showed me his garden (gorgeous, though precious few vegetables), and the rest of his home, into which they've obviously poured a lot of love and time and care. They are fonder of little knick-knacks and tacky doo-dads than I am, including lots of little china figurines of cutesy gnomes and things, but on the whole it was a charming home. Dinner was delicious, and we had a lot of fun playing with their parakeet, Billy.

The patio furniture arrived this morning, and moonandtree helped me put together the table (with some assistance from George, naturally). If I have time tomorrow I'll put together the barbecue, and maybe eventually I'll actually get some tidying and cleaning done.

I have randomly developed a headache since about 16:00, which has been lurking in the back of my head and behind my right eye. I should probably medicate it, but I've been too lazy and distracted. I think it's a tiredness-related headache more than anything else. It's not a migraine, although it shows all the signs of being the precursor to one (the stabbing feeling behind the eye is a gimme)

In more pleasant news, I went to Hurley's tonight, where I spent several very happy hours with tcaptain and maya_banana chatting about their honeymoon and looking at photos. We were joined by miseri, who was unfortunately feeling a bit under the weather. On the whole, though, a good time was had by all.

I am now going to go crash. Stupid headache.
