[livejournal.com profile] joane pointed me to Folia, which is kind of like Ravelry for gardeners. It's very shiny. I'm at work, so the amount of poking I can do is limited, but I created a profile (same username as always), and once I retrieve my camera cable things ought to get exciting.

I'm both excited about the garden this year, and feeling kind of discouraged because my attempts to start things indoors met with miserable failure. I've never had a particularly green thumb, and I was sort of hoping that I had turned the corner on killing plants in their infancy, but it appears I still have some ways to go on that. *sigh*

Hopefully my experiments in direct-sowing will go better, once the planting season starts. Last year the broccoli did really well even when I neglected it in favour of work. So maybe this year the stuff I sow directly will do well in spite of me.

Why oh WHY can people not take the fifteen seconds to check Snopes and/or Google before hitting "forward" on their stupid fearmongering emails?

WHY?!?
