Not ten minutes into my work day, and I already have murderous thoughts toward the supervisor I wanted to use as a pinata before I left. Snark-filled emails AND erroneous nit-picking about my time sheet (which I still have to start over because he scribbled all over it instead of using a post-it note) are not conducive to my having happy fluffy thoughts right now.

This is not an auspicious start to the work day... at least he's not going to be here until Monday, and if I'm lucky (I'm working evenings) he'll be working day shift and I won't have to put up with him for long.

Also, I'm working with Zen!Coworker, which is great. Tomorrow I'll apparently be working with Psycho!Blonde, which is less fun, but if she doesn't bitch too much it should be okay.

Apparently I have the hearing of a teenager. In this case, it's not a blessing. :P

ZOMG!

I totally forgot to mention this, but I may be in trouble, garden-wise.

I decided, on a whim, to plant my beans and peas at the same time as my tomatoes and other nice garden things.

The cucumbers are coming along, as are one of the tomato plants. So far so good.

I mentioned in my last garden update that one of my snap peas had germinated. Well, while I was gone, some of the other beans germinated and began to sprout happily. They were a couple of inches high, which made my garden-mummy heart feel all sorts of happy warm fuzzy feelings.

I glanced over at them today, and suddenly not only have the Scarlet Runner Beans sprouted they are OVER A FOOT TALL.

O_O

Uh, oops? Now I have to find some (much) larger containers for them.

I am worried about my other seeds. The Lee Valley self-watering containers appear to be keeping the earth very wet, and I'm afraid the seeds will just rot in there.

Experienced gardeners, should I leave them be, or should I empty the water and let them dry out a bit? I don't want to lose my entire crop before I've even started...

So it looks as though, maybe, maybe, my cleaning lady stole my new bus pass. I will make a concerted effort to look for it tonight, because I would very much like to be mistaken about this, but I left it in plain view on my kitchen table, and now it is no longer there. This sort of accusation, once made, cannot be retracted, so I'm going to make damned sure it didn't get tidied away by accident.

This is NOT good news. Either way, I'm out an extra $70 which I can't really afford right now. It won't break me, but let's just say the timing ain't great. :P

In other news, I am weirdly discontented right now. Part of this is due to still being hellishly overtired. I feel like I could sleep for another week (or maybe two). This is partly my fault for not disciplining myself to go to bed earlier last week, and a little bit due to jetlag (one hour's difference does take its toll, weirdly enough).

It's also because I'm considering making a Big Life Decision™, and it's unsettling me. I'm going to remain coy about this one, folks, because I have NO idea if it's going to work or not. It's going to take a heck of a lot of planning, and a whole lot of turning my life upside-down if it does end up working out. It'll be at least nine or ten months before I'll even be able to tell if it's going to work. Still, the wheels are in motion, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

What would totally simplify my life would be to win the lottery tonight (or tomorrow, I'm not fussy), and retire with my millions. Yes. Of course, I'd actually have to buy tickets for that to be remotely feasible...
