I burn with the fury of a thousand fiery suns. I just got the car serviced this morning (well, technically yesterday morning), and now it is b0rked. It was working fine before I took it in, although there was an odd squeaking sound and it was slowly leaking antifreeze (which is why I took it in to begin with).

Now, when I turn the key in the ignition, the engine dies. After a few tries I got it to work long enough to park it inside the garage at work, but I could hear and feel the engine revving improperly. One of the guys here thinks they've b0rked the fuel injection system.

To say that I am pissed off would be putting it mildly. I just hope I can get the car to work long enough tomorrow morning to get it to the repair place without it's dying on me. I also have to do that without making use of the autoroute, which is going to be several different kinds of fun. :P

ARGH!

Am home again. Am ensconced in pj's, and awaiting a call from my supervisor telling me whether or not I need to come in this afternoon and evening. Things were so last-minute yesterday that I'm not sure they have a replacement for me. Well, if they don't, the Overtime Fairy will be very generous with me, I'm sure. :)

I shall have a nap this morning, whether or not I'm working today. What will vary is the length of the aforementioned nap.

In good news, the car is fixed. I took it back to the garage this morning, where they diagnosed a case of twisted wiring (all their own fault, I assure you) and promptly untwisted the wires, whereupon the car purred like a well-fed cat. I am quite pleased about this. It only took ten minutes to fix, cost me nothing, and now the "check engine" light is off again. All is as it should be, and the car really is running much better than before.

I have a post to write about taking the next step in ecological reform and activism. Until I can clear my brain sufficiently, I will simply point you to this post by my friend and landlady [livejournal.com profile] ai731, and hope that all of you, for whatever reasons you may have, will choose to take a more active role in being the change you want to see in the world.

So much to say, so little energy with which to say it. Isn't that always the way of things?

Off to take a nap.

It feels a bit strange to be waking up, having a shower and prepping for work at this hour of the day. However, it does mean that the Overtime Fairy is going to pay me a visit. Yay! Got in a four-hour catnap, and watched the last episode of Season 4 of Babylon 5. I am underwhelmed, sadly enough, but then I've never been a fan of shows in which the last episode sums up in about five minutes what happens in the next ten to a hundred years. So.

Now I have to get dressed and head in to work in about 45 minutes. Dinner is in prep mode on the stove, the cats are clinging to me (not surprisingly) and on the whole life is good. Am having some weather and tiredness-related angst, but with any luck that shall resolve itself once I've had some more sleep. I know better by now than to think that all the irrational thoughts floating around in my head are anything but temporary, so I'm doing what I do best: battening down the hatches and weathering out the storm. These things blow over, they always do. I just wish they'd give me a break for a few months. Sheesh.

Off to go check on dinner.
