A moment to reclaim what's left of my sanity...

It's starting to feel as though thirteen-hour days are going to be part of the regularly-scheduled program here. Why yes, I am at work, why do you ask?

Can't stay online for long. Just taking my first actual break since 6am this morning. It's 6:45pm now. It's been a long day. I was planning on catching up on my work today, but a metric assload of new stuff landed on my desk and now I've got just as much work ahead of me as I did before. The only good news is that I haven't fallen behind. Yet.

I've typed up the two most urgent quotes, as well as 90% of this week's new leads. I want to get the rest of Friday's leads done before I leave, which will (I hope) leave me with the rest of this week to get the other new leads processed.

In random news, some guy just called five minutes ago and asked me if we could come out *now* to do a quote. Ha ha ha ha ha it is to laugh. We're booked into October, buddy. If it's an emergency, it ain't us you want.

Okay. Back to work. I borrowed the Paternal Unit's boat to come to work today (hence being able to get here for 6am and being able to leave after 6pm and not worry about bus schedules), so I do eventually have to get going so I can get it back to him in a timely fashion.

Home now. Returned car to Paternal Unit, got a ride home. Tired now. Fourteen-hour days are da bomb. Yeah, that must be it.

Still not caught up on work. Was catching up, then more work happened. Funny how that happens.

I bought myself a phone with an answering machine yesterday. Now people can call and actually leave me messages. The one tiny drawback is that the mic on the answering machine isn't very good, so my recording sounds muffled. I can hear everything else just fine, though, so I'm happy to live with that minor inconvenience. Hey, maybe I'll have messages when I check later! Exciting.

Going to bed now. Gotta be up in seven hours.

Don't know how people manage with so little sleep. I really don't.
