Ended up going with [livejournal.com profile] fearsclave to Murray Hill park to see the lunar eclipse, along with Patrice (see last year's Bigfoot MegaWargame for more details on him) and a photographer friend of his named Laurent.

Eclipse was, of course, spectacular, although by the end I got quite cold, having neglected to bring along either a sweater or a jacket.

Amusing encounters of the evening: middle-aged gentleman with a golden retriever named McGraw, a gaggle of teenagers who appeared to have more money and leisure time than brains, and an older couple with a labrador-mix, all of whom got a look through the telescope. Earlier on a young boy of maybe eleven on rollerblades asked to look throught the 'scope, announced loudly that he knew where we could get a better view, and then skated off. *shrug*

I had lots of fun with my disposable camera. Yes, the one with which I was blithely blinding people at Hurley's last Friday. I did the same thing tonight, and took a few photos of the moon itself, although I have very little faith that they will come out looking like anything at all, other than a vast expanse of black with a small point of light at best.

We were out from about 10pm to 12:35am, and I'm going to be a basket case at work today. Work day begins in a few short hours, but I wanted to document this event, which only takes place ever fifteen years or so, and I know I probably won't have time tomorrow.

Off to bed.

Blarf...

I am SO wrecked it's not even funny.

I'm sitting here hating my clients and being tired and wishing I was anywhere else but here. Truly. I think I wouldn't even mind being in downtown Beijing without a surgical mask as long as it meant not having to answer calls.

Mage tonight, then work again tomorrow. I *think* I have Monday off, but according to my schedule I'm supposed to work from 10:00am to 9pm, because of some f*cked up notion that says I'm working "extended" hours. Bah! I say. Bah!

Oh, [livejournal.com profile] curtana? Bell Mobility is hiring for temporary spots over the summer, if you're interested, because of the switch to a new billing system. It would only be for about four months, and the pay is good, even if normally I wouldn't recommend this job to my worst enemy. For four months it's more than tolerable (it took seven months for me to really begin loathing it).

Want me to forward the information to you? The advantage would be that you'd have a built-in ride to work. :)

In work-related news, I hate my customers and, yes, the SYSTEM IS DOWN AGAIN!

"Host Busy, Wait" is the error message we have all learned to loathe with all of our beings.

Ten minutes until my lunch break, and I'll get to work on the scarf I'm making for Abi.

Oog.

Mage tonight, which is a blessing. I've missed that game. :)
