Sunday Gaming
Feb. 9th, 2003 10:53 pmFVLMINATA rocked today. For those of you who might not have been following that particular storyline, it's an RPG I play semi–regularly with
joane and
karine, and GMed by
shenlo.
The session lasted for about eight hours and we had a blast. We all got really into character, giggled like mad and actually got a lot of plotlines a lot further along than I would have thought possible in one day's gaming. Midna,
karine's character, fought in the pits (she's a gladiatrix) and actually came out as the champion; Calliope,
joane's character, seems to have found a new purpose in life, which is to make the life of Gallimus (the man who had all our characters framed for murder and sentenced to death on the cross which we "luckily" escaped) a living Hell.
Safiya, my character, is blooming nicely. Although I hadn't pictured her to be quite as happy and bubbly and feather-brained, she's actually turning out to be useful and pretty shrewd in her own way. If this were D&D, I'd have to give her a low intelligence and a high wisdom, but sadly there isn't that much room for that in this game system. Safiya managed to seduce the man who appears to be responsible for the whole conspiracy, or is at least a key player.
It was also a great deal of fun turning her into a snivelling wreck when we returned to the scene of the crime only to find ourselves surrounded by Lemurs, the spirits of the unnamed or unburied or otherwise restless dead. At least, I think that's how it's spelled. It sounded like that, anyway. That scene was incredibly intense, in spite of Safiya's antics: the shades looming and groaning softly all around us, Calliope almost chanting an intense declaration of revenge, and Safiya curled up at Midna's feet, whimpering and sobbing with fear.
Then we ran like hell.
I can hardly wait to play again! Sadly, it's not for another month.
Oh, and in other news,
joane has agreed to teach me to make myself a cloak! Yay! It's probably going to be burgundy because that's all the material her contact has in the right amounts, but since I love burgundy that won't really be a problem.
*bounce* I'm getting a cloak!
And just in time to go with that,
joane and
shenlo got me a shiny dagger as a present, because it reminded them of Safiya. It has an Egyptian motif, with a scarab on the hilt and the pommel (is that the word I'm looking for? maybe it's just the grip I want) is shaped like a pharaoh with the crossed crook and flail and there are hieroglyphics all along the sheath which of course I can't read but which are still very nifty.
Eee! *bounce*
