Yeeeeeeeee!

Decided to take the initiative yesterday and wrote Poms an email being very very direct about the whole situation.

Went out on a limb and point blank asked him if it was a date, came right out and said that that's what I wanted it to be, and then cringed and waited for a reply.

Turns out Curtana was right. *silly happy grin*

Go me!

*bounce bounce bounce bounce*

*runs around in giddy circles*

Dang, I've got butterflies and everything. Feel all silly and about twelve years old. *blush*

Sent him another email setting up a new date for Friday, since he pretty much left the ball in my court about what pace to set with this. Not sure that he's all that much more experienced than I am at this dating thing, so it'll pretty much be the blind leading the blind. Not that that matters. I'm sure we'll stumble through it all just fine. It ought to be amusing to watch, in any case. Firewillow is already cackling merrily and threatening to give poor Poms the "break her heart and I'll break your legs" talk.

Ah well. A most satisfactory beginning to this new chapter. :)

First day at work.

Mixed feelings about this, but I think on the whole this job will be a good thing for me.

My trainers, Michèle and France, are nice enough, as is the rest of the team. They're very pro–Bell, unsurprisingly. Very Go Bell! Rah rah rah!

Much gesticulating and emphasising of what a great company Bell is: young and dynamic and growing and blah blah blah. Then insisting that they weren't trying to indoctrinate us. I was amused. :)

Their insurance system would boggle the mind of Franz Kafka, however. Between salary deductions and "flexible dollars" (whatever the Hell that means) we were all thoroughly confused. On the plus side, if I want I can start an RRSP in three months' time. Benefits look pretty darned nifty, too.

The building itself is not particularly enthralling, but I got a very comfy chair, and they've got all these ergonomic thingies set up for our comfort and general well–being. Customer service is busy as all get–out, so I doubt I'll have the time to get bored with my job. Stupid computer system is counter–intuitive, but not impossible to master, I don't think.

Ooog. Day catching up to me. Off to bed.
