Glibbleblibble
May. 3rd, 2002 10:23 pmAm mildly inebriated, though due to heightened self–awareness am not drunk to point of increased clutziness.
Left fearsclave and ML to fend for themselves, as they seemed quite bent on coming over to terrify my doorman otherwise. Managed to dissuade them, thankfully. It would have got back to my parents eventually, and then I would have had to explain things, which would only make it worse.
Was fun. Band sang good eighties and seventies tunes, as well as regrettable ones, after which we left. Much talk of sci–fi books, notably high praise of Ian Banks, I think the name was. Continued praise of Douglas Adams. Talk moved over to Machiavelli and Sun Tsu (at least, I think that's how it's spelled), as well as the samurai whose name escapes me who wrote a book (whose name sadly also escapes me right now but involves five rings —am apparently more inebriated than I suspected).
May well be going paintball shopping with fearsclave tomorrow for miscellaneous gear, mostly army surplus stuff. Maybe will hit upon something useful, but plan to get at least black clothing.
Depends on whether Maternal Unit needs rescuing from Paternal Family Units in the afternoon, in which case I may drag her to see LoTR, in which she has expressed interest before.
I won a lottery at work, and promptly spent a third of it: half on a bus pass, the other half on dinner. Money well spent, given that I didn't earn a penny of it. Bought Maternal Unit a Loto Super 7 ticket at her request. Was vaguely amused by concept.
Funeral tomorrow. Am hoping family will avoid psychodramas, but am not holding breath.

Am apparently: 7% red, 20% blue, 13% white, 5% yellow.
Which begs the question: where did the other 55% go?
