Date: 2010-04-25 01:49 pm (UTC)These things can end well, happily. I hope that's the case here. Course, I was convinced that Pursey had caught wind of an attractive girl cat and gotten eaten by a hawk along the way, so being a bit negative about it is natural.

Date: 2010-04-26 03:05 pm (UTC)Man, I'm so sorry.
A family friend of mine is a bit of a cat and cat rescue expert, and she says that the sooner you put out the missing signs---with photo, if possible---the better: There is a good chance that someone has taken George in (lost cats are pretty smart about that), and may be waiting for owner/address/phone info.; problem is, they don't tend to wait very long before a) dumping the cat with the SPCA or b)deciding to keep the cat, with the thinking that his owner has abandoned him, and/or must not care much that he's gone. (And obviously the latter is not remotely the case with you---I'm just talking about the assumptions made.
Best of luck---I hope he's home soon!!
