Maybe the rules for knitters are different, but you're not considered a serious cross stitcher unless you have boxes and boxes of thread, fabric, and unfinished projects. :)
I have a trunk full of scrap yarn that I keep thinking I should do something with, but then I go to the yarn store and find the perfect yarn to go with the project I just found on Ravelry.
