Oh, we don't have fixed electoral dates here. The party in charge can basically declare elections whenever the hell they want, within certain restrictions.

Okay. Now it makes sense why he can declare an election. Are one of those restrictions that they have to have elections every so often? Because if it were here I could totally see the majority party deciding not to have elections so they could stay in power, but I'm cynical.

Not that our Government would pay attention to fix dates, even if they did create the law in the first place. They proved that with the last election.

I was thinking last night that Our election would have been different if it would have been called after the American one.

I'm so glad the American one turned out the way it did. I'm so sorry to the world for electing Bush (I didn't vote for him) and I would have been sorrier if we elected McCain since he voted with Bush on so many issues that it wouldn't have been change.
