I have no angry rant left. Suffice it to say that the supervisors made a poor staffing choice and ignored a specific request I had made. The result was that I didn't end up working in the CDOU (I forget what it stands for) and they gave it to Excitable!Puppy, after telling me for months that I wasn't "experienced enough" for the post.

I was unhappy, but it's not because they think Excitable!Puppy is better than me, it's simply because he happened to be there, and thus the Way of Least Amount of Work was taken by the on-duty supervisor.

I am pissed, but nowhere near as much as I was this morning upon finding out that I'd been passed over.
