It never rains, etc.

So yesterday I ended up staying home from work with the Migraine That Came From Nowhere. I figured going to work would be tempting fate.
Turns out I was wrong. Going to work would have been a much better plan.
The first thing that happened was that Gretzky jogged my elbow while I was holding my cup of coffee. The coffee then spilled all over the keyboard, and there was a Very Bad Sound from the computer, which promptly died. It seems not to have died completely, but I can't get it out of sleep mode no matter what I do.
So this morning I got up bright and early to go take it to the Mac repair store. Then the doorknob came off in my hand. I tried putting it back, to no avail. Did I mention the door was still locked? Yeah. I considered getting out through the back, but it's covered in three feet of snow, and the back gate is also under three feet of snow. So effectively, barring an emergency, I was trapped at home. In the event of (God forbid) a fire, I would have been able to get out. Otherwise, short of breaking down the door, I was stuck.
So I got a locksmith to come. Or, more to the point, there were no locksmiths available on such short notice. So the little man from the front desk came to get me out, which was very nice of him, but also very frustrating because he really wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, nor was he able to properly fix the problem. He did arrange my deadbolt so that I could leave the apartment safely, but right now I have no doorknob. *sigh*
Tomorrow they are sending a proper locksmith to finish the job. Then maybe, just maybe, I'll have time to go bring my computer to be fixed.
In short, once again I shall be difficult to reach for the next few days other than by phone. I shall check my messages religiously, but I won't be home much and it'll be at awkward hours. So.
How was *your* day?
