Dear brain,

Waking me up every forty-five minutes all night is not a healthy sleep pattern. Especially not when I find myself on the other side of the damned room when I wake up, or, on one memorable occasion, in a completely different part of the apartment.

Seriously, what the hell?

Our friend ingenuemuse whacked her head on a bookcase sleepwalking like that. I'll give you the same advice I gave her: tie an ankle to the bedpost or something.

Yes, I know, I need a bed frame.

What gets me is that I not only managed to get to the other end of my apartment in my sleep (completely panicked, although I can't remember why now), but that I closed my bedroom door behind me again in so doing. Now that takes a healthy sense of irony, if nothing else.

Insomnia sucks. At least, this kind does. I'm not awake enough at night to be productive (where oh where is the hypomania when you need it?), but I'm exhausted during the day, too. Lose-lose. :P
