I feel like my icon

This week has been pretty damned intense. Work has gone up a few notches in terms of how busy we are, although it's still not even close to Erb on an average day. I can't believe I still miss my old job so much, even if it was a constant exercise in frustration.
We got flowers on Wednesday for "Administrative Worker Appreciation Week." They were very pretty, and so L (the other girl in reception) and I hijacked a vase from one of the managers and stuck them at the front entrance just in front of our desks so everyone could share in the pretty.
The CAM piled on the work today, to the point where I'll be working on it for most of tomorrow as well. I am learning stuff, though, so it's not all bad.
Let's see. What else happened?
I got myself a metronome at Archambault. This helped a great deal on Tuesday for practice. The migraine, however, did not help. As a result, there was no practice on Wednesday. Migraine + percussion = BAD. However, it was entirely gone today, for which I am grateful.
I also got myself a recorder. A beautiful wooden recorder made out of pear tree wood. It has the most gorgeous mellow sound ever. Well, not quite. There was at Archambault a recorder that I drooled over (not literally, although they did let me try it), made of rosewood. The sound pierced my heart right through. I'm not anywhere close to being a professional, however, so there was no way I could justify buying it. It was over $350 before taxes.
:::siiiiiiiigh:::
One day.
Last but not least, I wore my new black felt cowboy hat to the Bolo Club tonight for the first time. The compliments were many, and much appreciated. I think it looks quite jaunty, personally. ^_^ I shall be wearing it again tomorrow.
Now all I need is jeans, boots, and belt with a large buckle.
And now, to bed.
