The downside to being a Rocking Thing

mousmeOkay, so I went to the SAAQ, and dealt with everything in less time than it took me to wait in line, ie two minute (I waited for ten, and drove for about ten to get there). Yay for not living in illegality anymore!
So I rock like a rocking thing. No surprise there.
It occurred to me while I was making the myriad phone calls that allowed me to open the can of whoopass on the Idiot!Landlord, that I might be opening a huge-ass can of worms that I may well be unable to close.
For one, it means that I'll have to get this place clean in double-quick time, as mine is the only name and phone number the municipal inspector will have when he comes by to do his inspection.
This means that he'll want to see the inside of my place, and as a tenant it's my responsibility to keep the place in good shape. Now, I haven't damaged the place, but it's not exactly tidy either. Also, the cats don't help.
It occurs to me also that the fact that my Idiot!Landlord doesn't have a spare key to the apartment may not play in my favour in all of this. Granted, I can play the "Yeah well I can never get in touch with him anyway" card, but that's unlikely to fly for very long.
In other words, please please please keep your fingers crossed that my well-intentioned actions don't blow up in my face, folks. >_
