Okay, so it's two steps forward and one step back most of the time, but things seem to be progressing.

1- I have almost finished week #2 of Neurontin, and it's been 200mg for a week now and still no evil side-effects. Seeing the meds doc tomorrow for the last time before I get transferred over to MUSIC (McGill University Sexual Identity Clinic, or as [livejournal.com profile] fearsclave redubbed it: McGill University Sanity Impairment Clinic —heh).

Dosage is probably going to be upped, I assume 300mg for a week and then 400mg the next week, to end up at around 800mg sometime in October.

I'm very glad that the Neurontin isn't doing weird things to me the way the Paxil did. That stuff was evil, looking back on it. I wonder if most SSRIs have intense side-effects like that (I think Prozac does, but I'm not sure about Zoloft or Effexor or any of the others).

2- My apartment is looking cleaner every day. I'm quite pleased. I don't have my routines quite down yet, but I'm hoping that'll come with practice.

3- The one thing that's not doing so well is my work. It's piling up at an alarming rate, and I haven't yet been able to find the discipline to just sit down and work for hours at a stretch. I get sidetracked by ten billion different things, and yet this is probably the most important thing I should be doing in all this.

*sigh*

Maybe I need to make that part of a "routine" as well. Otherwise I'm going to have a dickens of a time making this work, no pun intended.

Nonetheless, things are looking up. Now, if I can only keep this up for more than a week. *crosses fingers and knocks on wood*

i was on effexor for quite some time. besides gaining a lot of weight i didn't have any side effects unless i missed a dose. getting off of it however is a bitch. it's taking me over a year to get off of it.
