I know very little about some of the people on my friends' list. Some people I know relatively well. I read your fic, or we have something else in common and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she likes spinach."

I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal, if you feel like it.

My first long-term job ever came along when I was 16 or so. I worked Thursdays and Saturdays at the now-defunct Ground Round Restaurant in Matteson, IL as a birthday clown. Actually, before that I was a street performer, but it was in a wimpy little suburb of Chicago, so I didn't make a whole lot of money at it. (In case you're wondering: I juggled. It kept me entertained.)

I am dead set against getting a piercing because I (wrongly) believe the foreign object would alter my body's natural energy flow. By contrast, I *adore* piercings on other people from an aesthetic point of view.

Also, I have an interesting collection that not many people know about...I somehow over the years have saved pretty much every movie ticket stub from every movie I've seen. I most likely can tell you who I went with, why, etc..etc.. Neat hunh?

I am extremely squeamish about blood, and often look away from movies if any blood at all is shown. In the past, I have been known to faint just from seeing fake blood in a movie. Very embarrassing.

My parents used to send me to Arizona over the summer to see my Grandma. I used to go hiking in Madera Canyon and Mt. Lemon (before the fire there), and get 50 cent butter pecan ice cream cones at the grocery store.

Later, I spent a summer in Arizona doing janitorial work for my aunt's business for room and board.

i have a veritable obsession with small lights in darkness. i love them. xmas lights, street lamps, lanterns, whatever. i think this stems from my first view of Montreal, which was from a plane at 11pm when i was 4. there is no sight as beautiful in all the world.

I spent my childhood living in my head and don't remember large chunks of my "real" life.

I spent my sixteenth year in a depression so deep that I only survived because I knew what it would do to my mother.

I learned to read at three years old and have read an average of five books a week since. Sometimes, I'm amazed that I haven't ran out of good books to read yet. In the past year, I've probably only read 30-40 books, due to my medical problems. This is a tragedy to me.

I much prefer cold drinks to drinks with ice in them (admittedly, some drinks you're supposed to have ice with... I'd still rather just have it cold). I usually end up eating the ice cubes.

Also, at one point while growing up, I had contemplated being a marine biologist. This was due to an educational fictional show set aboard a ship... I think it was called "The Voyage of the Mimi". This is when I decided I didn't like seafood...

My childhood bedroom used to be mostly in shades of yellow and pink, and I had a four post bed. I ripped that down in my early-teens, on my own, after it took too long for my mother to call in someone to do it. She was rather stunned when she came back home, and saw the four posts outside the door of the apartment, ready to be taken away. ;)

Okay, I'm a little late with this - but better late than never right?

Through my teenage years I wanted to do the following jobs: marine biologist, criminologist, criminal lawyer, police officer, doctor (including pathologist, neurologist and ob/gyn), librarian, forensic scientist, librarian, forensic scientist, doctor, forensic scientist...

While at college I learned to like rare steak, olives (I live for the fetta stuffed kind) and mushrooms (mmmmm... garlic marinade).

I've recently discovered I've gone up a size on bottom (now a 20), but my boobs haven't joined my arse in the growth... I'm not sure if this is a good thing.
