So where has Phnee been the last few days? Nowhere special, sadly.

Thursday was A&S Night at [livejournal.com profile] joane's place, where I worked a bit on the sweater I'm making for my mother for when she gets back from France on the 23rd of June. Lots of fun people there, who will probably also be there in two weeks. :)

Spent until 3am on Friday cleaning obsessively, as the apartment was embarassingly filthy.

Boring Housecleaning Stuff

I vacuumed the carpets, then rolled them up and put them away, as I have decided the place looks much better without them anyway, then swept the floors and passed the Swiffer (I have the wetjet kind, which is basically a glorified mop with bells and whistles and which I love dearly because it's very handy indeed). This enabled me to install the new futon mattress I got on the floor; the cats all promptly installed themselves on it and covered it in black and orange fur. *sigh*

Then I tackled the *shudder* spare room in which I keep the litter boxes. I'd only been doing perfunctory cleaning in there for a while now, so it really needed a going-over. I poured bleach on the most devastated areas (namely where Gretzky had a few "accidents" in the past and where George had had his fits of pique and pooped on the floor to show me who was *really* the boss in our place when I had the audacity to change brands of cat litter.

Let me tell you: bleach + cat urine = massive amounts of lethal fumes. I had to open the balcony door so that we wouldn't all suffocate, and all the cats made a beeline for the balcony, ignoring my anxious wibbling in the background as they squeezed through to the neighbour's balcony. My balcony is pretty rotten, for those of you who are unfamiliar with my dwelling, and while it can sort of support my weight (and thus definitely a few pounds of cat), I never feel particularly secure when anyone or anything is out there.

While the spare room was airing out, I gave the litter boxes a thorough washing, and then moved on to tackle the bathroom. A lot of all-purpose cleaner later, the bath, sink and toilet bowl were all sparkly. Then I noticed that the baseboard heater and the base of the toilet were covered in cat hair, so I got down on all fours (my bathroom is small and not really designed for people to actually move around in unless you're sitting in the bath or on the toilet), squeezed between the sink and the toilet, and scrubbed for about twenty minutes. I then swept and swiffed, and the bathroom was once again presentable.

Somewhere in the midst of all this I started a load of laundry so that my guests could have clean towels, then washed the dishes that needed it (George broke the first bowl in a set I bought for myself a few months ago, and I'm not really pleased with that), dried and put away as many as I could.

Moving back to the living-room/dining-room area, I did some more sweeping of the floor (which really needed it!), then moved my table from the middle of the room to the corner of the room, so I could place an armchair near my bookcase. The other armchair I left near the futon bed/sofa so that people could sit there too if they wanted.

Insert lots of throwing away of stuff here, as I got rid of a ton of papers and Random Crap (tm) that had accumulated over the months, and then I waged war against my packrat habits and got rid of a bunch of stuff that I'd kept "just in case I might need it someday," and tossed it all to the curb in time for garbage day on Friday.

I called it a night then (it was 3am) and went to bed for three hours.

I got up at 6am (don't ask me how!), and put sheets and pillows on the new futon (after removing about seven inches of cat hair *sigh*), then as I was doing so noticed about an inch of grime had accumulated on the ceiling fan, which was really gross and could be seen perfectly when lying or sitting on the futon, so I grabbed my Clorox wipes (I sound like an add for cleaning products!), which I had used the night before to scrub the baseboards and the moulding on the walls, and teetered precariously on one of my chairs to clean each blade. I'm very glad I did, because it looks much better now.

Then I did my own ablutions and went to work, where I spent the day yawning and cursing the existence of my clients.

Found out that Abi wasn't coming, and had an ice cream cone at lunch as a way to console myself. Me? Deal with problems by eating? Never! ;)

Worked a bit more on the sweater I'm making for my mum (I've got almost three inches done! Yay!), then worked on Perseity, then crashed massively at 10pm while talking to [livejournal.com profile] forthright and [livejournal.com profile] curtana on ICQ. Realised I was no longer making sense, so I went to bed.

Nearly overslept this morning, but Pan-Pan bit my nose in an attempt to get me to give him food, so I got up just in time not to be late for work. Cats are useful that way. ;)

Am hoping to get off work early today so I can get to [livejournal.com profile] joane's in a timely manner for DANCING! Yes, dancing. No, I don't know how to dance, nor have I ever really been out dancing before, so it should be a novel experience to say the least. I just hope I have enough energy left by then to have fun. :)

I wish that I was still hypomanic: it would be a lot easier to go dancing and keep up with myself.

Ah, crud - you don't ever actually check your answering machine, do you? :( I'm still running a fever, hon, and I left you two messages yesterday to make sure that you got the news. We're doing mead today, but I'm in no shape to go out tonight. You're welcome to come over, but I'll likely be a vegetable after about 9:00 pm. Also news about work, and the CS rep I was gossiping about, so call me!

Oh, ick for you , sweetness.

I'm actually kind of glad, since I'm pretty dead myself.

I haven't checked my messages in about two days, no. Leave me messages on my cell phone -I pick those up regularly. Basically I use my land line as an access-to-internet deal. :)

Will call you on my break in about half an hour! Whee! :)
