Hysterics and psychodrama... or not

I seem to be living perpetually on the edge of crisis, and it's truly beginning to get on my nerves. It's as though I don't know how else to exist, how else to communicate, and looking at that I'm surprised anyone puts up with me and my melodrama for any length of time superior to five minutes.
Bleah.
As I suspected, I had a good time at dinner last night even though I developed a monster migraine about a quarter of the way through the evening.
Talk ranged from random topics like knitting and Solomon Gursky to the political situation in Brazil and the war in Iraq, and we just about killed ourselves laughing at random jokes and witticisms which flew around the table. I'd forgotten how much fun my parents' dinner parties can be when the right people are put together.
My mother's friend (and my father's colleague) MM was there, and she asked me to adopt her orange cat, Gretzky (so named because she breaks a lot of stuff). I've accepted, much to my parents' dismay. They think three cats is an exaggeration, but if I don't then poor Gretzky will go to the SPCA, which sucks.
Gretzky is a girl, btw. She sounds a lot like Pan-Pan, actually: neurotic and loving and very vocal. We're going to have a blast together. George and Pan-Pan need some female influences in their lives. ;)
