The plumber is coming around 10:00am. Whoop-dee-doo. I hope he accepts cheques. ^^;

I am sick as the proverbial dog, although I don't think I sound quite as terrible as I did an hour ago upon waking up, and right now the thought of food doesn't make me want to projectile vomit so I guess that's a good sign.

In related news, I think I've found where to turn off the water in the apartment. The bad news is, it's under my kitchen sink. For those of you who've been to my apartment recently, or who have read my recent rant about why I hate doing the dishes, you'll understand why this is a problem.

For those of you who are new to my LJ or who skipped that entry out of sheer unadulterated boredom (because honestly, do you really care about whether or not I like doing dishes and why?), here's why it's a problem: my washing machine is in the kitchen, and the way it's set up means that it blocks off about two-thirds of the sink, condemning the two cupboards under the sink (because my washing machine is huge). For doing the dishes, it's an inconvenience because it means having to do a weird half-twist with my upper body to get to the sink, which results in back pain. In order to have the plumber shut off the water, however, we're probably going to have to pull the entire washing machine away from the wall in order to get at the cupboards under the sink.

Buggery and damnation.

Oh dear. I am nervously waiting to see whether Peter actually has managed to fix our loo cistern, which was making oppobrious noises and startling the cats, so I can sympathise.

Eek!

Ultra!Scariness...

Reminds me of a summer way back when, when I had to restart an electric pressure pump ever morning for days after a blackout in the Eastern Townships or else we had no water.

O_o

My sympathies. :)

At least I have a real plumber this time, instead of my father (who has to be the world's worst handyman >_<). Did I ever mention that the road to Hell is paved with good intentions?

Ah plumbing, yes. It's our heating that has died, and in this weather we could definately get that fixed!

Am I missing something or did you not mention what happened that requires a plumber?

Oops...

I may have only mentioned it in conversation or comments or something.

The faucet on my bathtub has been leaking for the past... *counts* ten months. I pestered my landlord to fix it, and finally got fed up and had it done myself today.

Nothing major. :)
