On some days, to quote Dan, it's just not worth crawling out of the primordial ooze.

Had fun with Prospero's Daughter and [livejournal.com profile] lux80 watching Tales of the Crypt which was truly regrettable, and then part of a live Evanescence thing on Much Music.

I also got pressies (I'm attempting not to feel guilty because I had no money to get pressies in return). Prospero's Daughter got me a "Goodbye Kitty" magnet, which is v. kewl. [livejournal.com profile] lux80 got me a box of Lush stuff: a bath bomb, a massage bar, and a lovely crescent-moon-shaped soap. :)

Oh, and chocolate. Chocolate is always good. ^_-

So that was a good point on an otherwise frustrating day (from a purely internal, personal perspective: I was frustrated with myself, in case you were wondering).

In other news, I've finally made all the entries public that I wanted to make public, from February 2002 to December 2003, it's all done. The LJ client made it a lot easier, I must say.

That's one thing accomplished in a long list of things I need to do in a fairly short space of time. I've given myself a tentative deadline, but if I don't get everything done before then, well, I figure I can give myself an extra day or so to finish up stuff. Lord knows there's a lot to do, a lot to prepare...

I'm tired, but not sleeping, as usual. Meds still don't appear to be working. There's a shocker.

Just got back from a minor crisis in a friend's life. Well, minor in certain ways, certainly not minor in others. Crisis not resolved, since she mostly just needed a shoulder to cry on until tomorrow (well, today) when it *might* get resolved.

Got an email from her around 9:20, and by 9:23 was out the door in the most impressive display of speed-dressing since Bruno Walton first graced the hallowed halls of MacDonald Hall (if you've never read Gordon Korman you won't know what I'm talking about and will have missed some great children's books). Got there about twenty minutes later in spite of annoying snow-related traffic issues.

Briefly pondered driving to the homes of the ***censored*** people who made her cry and breaking their kneecaps, but decided not to because A) she needed me there more, and B) I don't know where they live.

Spent until 3:45 chatting, mostly about the crisis at hand but also about lots of other really interesting topics, and I had a good time in spite of the fact that she was upset. I got to learn a lot more about her (and she about me, I think), and I think that it was most certainly time well spent. Certainly better than sitting around here all night feeling sorry for myself. ;P

After all, I'm an insomniac: it's not like I was *sleeping* or anything. ^_-

Unfortunately, I missed the bright orange sign they tacked onto one of the posts outside her place, and thus my car got towed. We found some helpful policemen who gave us a number to call but suggested we take a look along neighbouring streets first, since there might well be a long wait on the lines. We took their advice and looked around, and found my car about five minutes later, which was a plus. There was a $92 parking ticket there too, which was a minus.

I then came home and dug my way *into* a snowbank so I could park my car. I'll have to move it at 8am so as not to get yet another parking ticket. *sigh*
