Yaaaaaaaaay!

*kermit flail*

So t! gave me the following topic: You're on a talk show. What five questions do you want them to ask you?

Honestly? Being on a talk show ranks high in my list of worst nightmares. Being the sole object in the spotlight and having to talk the entire time? ACK. The very thought makes me want to crawl into a hole and die. For one thing, I am never especially articulate during verbal debate, and I therefore dislike having to argue with people on topics about
which I am passionate, because invariably I feel I am nevrr doing the subject matter justice. I prefer the written word, which guarantees I can take the time I need to research, to cite my sources correctly, and therefore make a convincing case for myself.

As such, I've never given much thought to what I would want to talk about if I were ever invited on a talk show.

Of course, there's always the "[livejournal.com profile] mousme, you're an international best-selling author. Tell us about your rise to fame and your multiple award-winning sci/fi fantasy series!" Which is pretty self-explanatory. ;)

Aside from that?

I don't know. I'd love to be in a debate with other guests about zombies. I love zombies, I love discussing all the different kids of zombies, and while I'm far from an expert, I think I oculd really get into a talk show in which we discussed them at length. I think it could be a lot of a fun.

For a more serious question, I think I wouldn't mind being asked why I consider myself a feminist. I feel now that I have a good enough grasp of the subject matter that I wouldn't make an ass of myself or set the whole movement back fifty years. After all, with feminism every single individual woman is responsible for the movement as a whole, as far as the world is concerned. :P

I'd happily discuss English literature until Kingdom come, too. Anything after the 19th century would be fair game, although my knowledge is far from exhaustive. I'm pretty sure I could hold my own. That being said, I'm not sure I'd be breaking any new ground there.

"Phnee, why does the world suck?" wouldn't be a bad question either. Because while there is a lot wrong with the world, there's also a ton of great things about it too. I'd love to have the opportunity to chat about it with a group of knowledgeable people. That supposes, of course, that the talk show I'm on is one that welcomes the discussion of this sort of topic. I don't know what I'd do if I ever ended up on Maury Povitch's show. Die of mortification, probably. ;)

I feel a little bad that I don't have better questions or answers for this post. I'm just not a public speaking sort of a person, as a rule.
