I don't get it

mousmeY'know, other people manage to be productive in spite of major obstacles in their lives. They deal with chronic illnesses, marriage, children, crappy jobs, whatever.
Logically, by extension, you'd think I would be able to cope with the *one* thing in my life that doesn't always go according to plan. So I work long hours. So what? Lots of people do. I don't get why that prevents me from getting other stuff done in my life.
It's been three or four days now in which I simply haven't been able to drag myself out of bed before 09:00, which is ridiculous. I can't get anything useful done, either. I have a TON of stuff I need to do around the house, not to mention that I haven't been grocery shopping in for-freaking-ever, and I have almost no cat food and almost no cat litter and I'm tired of living only off of pasta which I don't even have the time/energy/inclination to cook. Not to mention the clutter that I *still* haven't found a proper home for.
Part of it is a time problem, and part of it is an energy problem. It just seems to take forever to do even small, mundane things: making food, washing dishes, getting ready for work. When it takes twice as long to do anything as usual, it leaves very little for anything else.
Anyway, don't mind me. Frustrated cat is frustrated.

Date: 2009-05-30 08:00 pm (UTC)2) Nobody can be super-person forever - eventually all the expended energy is going to catch up with you, and leave you sluggish for awhile. *shares tea* You work an insane amount of hours at a job that can be very stressful, and that requires a huge amount of energy. I admire your ability to be functional outside the office - like the commenter above, I think I'd be adopting a cat-style napping pattern if I was in a situation like that. lol
