Basically if you have a friends filter you use to post, you can also use that filter to view only the people who are on it. So if you create a "general" friends filter for example (friends / manage custom groups from your profile page), you could bypass the standard LJ friends list URL and use that filter's instead.
If the block is on the URL itself, this will circumvent it. :)
