Score one for the good guys
Apr. 23rd, 2008 04:59 amWe got a call on the evening of the 21st from the U.S. Marshall's office. Turns out some twit on the internet had posted pictures of his two 9mm pistols complete with ammo and was threatening to go on a shooting spree at the CEGEP du Vieux Montréal yesterday at noon.
Unfortunately for him, and fortunately for us, several concerned citizens called it in, and we were able to take action. We alerted the SPVM (Montreal Police, for my non-Canadian friends), and they apprehended the guy yesterday, although the school was shut down for the better part of the day.
Even if he was just a wanker looking for attention, I'm glad they caught him. If nothing else, he'll have learned a valuable lesson about wanking in public with guns. If he really was serious, then we've probably averted a tragedy.
In essence: go us. :)

It's good to see a prompt reaction from the police, though; if only they'd picked up on Kimveer Gill in the same way...

You were on my mind all weekend as I read a 17 year old SF paperback, Bone Dance, by Emma Bull, recommended to me by
There are references to Horsemen on every other page.
But they mean entities which "ride" other humans via voodoo possession.
Not quite the same as your Horsemen, but anyway, it made me think of you.
