The usual update from work

Work is a little quieter tonight than yesterday (shh... don't say that too loudly), so I'm taking a moment to update here. I've switched my email "alert" noise for the alarms so that it makes a "ta-daa!" sound when alarms come in. That way I don't miss them. So far it's working, even if it's a bit obnoxious.
I have a lot to do this week, in terms of prepping-for-Christmas stuff. I'm reluctant to sacrifice my mornings to this, though, since they are normally devoted to cleaning. Still, I shall have to leave earlier than usual one morning in order to get this stuff done. Either tomorrow or Friday. I'm leaning towards Friday, but that seems awfully last-minute. Maybe I'll bite the bullet and go tomorrow. *sigh*
The little Italian co-worker is not getting on my nerves quite as much. It's a question of taking him in small doses, I think, and not talking too much. If he's quiet, then it's okay. Updates as events warrant.
I am doing really well on the cleaning front, even if it seems as though it's never, ever going to end. I'm still working my way through old laundry, but I think that at the rate I'm going it should all be done by the end of this week.
Today I started clearing out a closet. The closet where I shoved all the things I didn't know what to do with a while back. Most of it is getting ruthlessly tossed out. I got rid of a bunch of shoes, most of which were in such sorry shape I don't know why I kept them. I'm talking soles-coming-off, holes-in-the-sides, no-one-knows-what-colour-they-used-to-be kind of shoes. Lord knows what was going through my mind when I thought I ought to keep them. Out they went. I also got rid of a bunch of, well, junk is the only good word for it, that was in there. A lot of it smelled of cat pee, which it did not when I first put it in. This makes me suspect that certain FFE's have been sneaking in there when I wasn't looking. Freaking cats.
I've been using my timer to give myself little challenges (15 minutes at a time), and I think the cats, especially Smudge, are on the verge of a nervous breakdown. They freak out every time the timer rings, which is every 15 minutes. They show no signs of getting used to it, either. Poor cats. Then again, they're responsible for at least 50% of the mess, so I don't have too much sympathy for them. ;)
I am in the process of reclaiming my living space. I'm tired of living with all this stupid clutter. I am therefore getting rid of everything for which I have no use. I mean, I have to keep it all shut away anyway so the cats don't pee on it, so I may as well give myself some breathing room, right? Right. Out goes the clutter. After that, I shall hang a few more pictures, as soon as I've bought nails with which to do that.
This week I also need to go to Canadian Tire and get myself a proper coat rack. The kind that goes on your wall. I shall have to borrow a drill from someone in order to install it, but I would very much like somewhere to hang my coat that isn't the doorknob in my bedroom or a closet in the other room. I would like my coat to be accessible when I leave for work (or anywhere else, for that matter).
This is getting stupidly long. I am going to end it here. Have a great evening, folks. :)
