It's always worth applying for jobs that you're underqualified for. Often a job posting is the employer's wish list and he or she may not be expecting to find a candidate that meets *all* the qualifications. Alternately, something on your CV may stand out and intrigue the employer. When I got my break in medical writing I had no experience at all. Zip. What intrigued the employer (and got me the interview) was all the community-type work that I did. Once I got the interview I just bul-- ... err... talked my way into the job.
