If you want, you can blame the stars! One of the boards I frequent has a bunch of astrology buffs on it, who explain that mercury is in retrograde, which means that all technology type stuff is extra likely to fail. Lots of people seem to be having issues lately. Or at least, more than usual are noticing/reporting problems in response to being told this...
