And I mean obsessive in a good way.
I've decided I'm going camping for a week in P.E.I. this summer. I have two weeks' vacation in July, so I'm spending one week in Halifax with
joane and
shenlo, and the preceding week communing with nature (no, not like that, you sickos!) somewhere in the scenic parks of Prince Edward Island.
So now I'm researching. Madly.
I've already calculated that I'm going to need about $250 for plane fare (including all fees and shit), since there's no cheap way to fly to P.E.I. I'm flying to Halifax either way, and then trekking to the island by car/ferry (unless I do the road trip thing, but I don't think I want to spend four days of my two week vacation in my car, really, and the gas would kill me).
So that doesn't include other transport to the island and then around the island. I have no idea where to find the information for how to get to the ferry, nor how to get from the ferry to whichever park I decide I want to go to. I'm thinking of renting a car in Halifax for a week, but I'm not sure where to do that. Will have to do more digging. Also, will have to see if the price is prohibitive. Also, I have no credit card. This may prove to be an issue. ^^;
Most campgrounds in P.E.I. are charging roughly $20 a day. So for a 7-day stint, that's $140, plus food. So let's say another $200 to be generous (hey, I'm camping, not staying at a four-star hotel!).
Off to research camping gear!
Can we tell I'm bored at work? My boss, poor thing, had a skiing accident. She sprained her knee and pulled some ligaments (possibly tore some of them), and is staying home for a while. The downside for me is that I have nothing to do now and am collossally bored!
Gah!
