mousmeTook the catnick to the vet, and it turns out she has an evil ear infection. It doesn't appear to bother her, though, which is the only reason I didn't really pay attention to it until recently, but the vet kind of twitched when she saw it, so apparently it's rather serious, involving blood and pus and lots of other good infection-related stuff. :(
She might also have a polyp in her ear, making her predisposed to nasty ear infections, but we won't be able to tell for sure until the swelling has gone down.
So it's ear drops for two weeks, then another visit to the vet.
Gretzky purred throughout most of the visit, except when the vet cleaned out the gunk from her ear (she sat completely still), and when the vet tried the rectal thermometer she spazzed out completely and refused to have *anything* remotely close to her nether regions. Not that I can blame her.
She had a wee bit of an accident in the carrier on the way there, but nothing too terrible, and it was easily cleaned up.
And the total? Nearly $200. Ouch.
