Michelle, you rock my world.
For those of you who (understandably) don't read every single comment to every single one of my entries, she has introduced me to FLY Lady, which is a godsend, I swear.
Together with my whirlwind cleanup of Monday night and Tuesday morning, I am going to take on the Forces of Clutter and Nastiness that have heretofore been the plague of my existence. No more Sloppy!Phnee! w00t!
Umm, yeah. Some of what she says seems suspect (for one, I'm not supposed to wear shoes indoors because it disturbs the downstairs neighbours, so I won't be doing that), but the whole "baby steps" approach is one that I like. I currently have hot water and bleach working its magic in my (now free of dishes!) kitchen sink. Sparkly sink, here I come!
Actually, I'm vaguely appalled at how many of those "hot spots" I actually have in this apartment. Honestly, there seem to be more hot spots than apartment! O_O
List of Hot Spots for myself:
- the front hallway (no more leaving non-perishable groceries in bags!)
- dining-room table
- kitchen counter
- kitchen table
- top of washing machine (it's right next to the stove and the sink, so very handy for putting stuff down and never picking it up again)
- ironing board in my bedroom/top of the dresser
So: right now I have two of those hot spots cleared and two partially cleared. That's not too bad, I don't think. I will be tackling them one by one over the course of the next few days.
Oh, I'm thinking of making a filter for these entries 'cause they're boring. Here's a poll, and please answer thruthfully, I'll make the answers private. See, if everyone replies that they want to be on the filter, I just won't make one, as it wouldn't be useful. ;)

Date: 2003-04-30 10:38 am (UTC)As for the answer to your question, I don't see a point to a filter. As you start to make these steps a part of your existance you won't even notice it so much except that once in a while you will be really happy that you don't have to clean all weekend. ;-) I don't think anyone will mind that, not that I am actually answering for anyone or anything.

Date: 2003-05-01 12:26 pm (UTC)That FLY site looks awesome. I'll surely join when my stupid, stupid entrance exams are over and I can think of something else than proteins and DNA. Thank you for the link.
