The absence of physical contact would be extremely frustrating, IMHO. Not even being able to grab and hug (or other, less PG-13 things) my SO when she wanders by would drive me nuts in the very short term. Communicating is all fine and dandy and an essential part of any relationship, but so is the wild monkey sex. And the cuddling. And the kissing them goodbye when you leave for work in the morning.
We're both mind and body, and both need their own sort of contact.
