I am amused that Firefox tells me I have already used that title. Apparently I am not as useless as I have felt lately.

It's not even 08:30 and I have already sorted out laundry, dishes and cat pans. I took out the garbage and put the recycling outside. I cleared out a lot of the clutter that always seems to accumulate in my front entrance. Sheesh. I am having breakfast, and in a moment will go take a shower.

Then I am off to run errands! There are groceries to be bought, and then I am taking a field trip to IKEA to get some much-needed furniture. Part of me is twitching at the amount of money I plan to spend on furniture. It's been nearly three years of financial solvency, and I still can't wrap my mind around the fact that, yes, I can actually go out and buy something I need without worrying about whether I can pay the bills at the same time. I wonder if the twitchiness will ever go away. Right now I have a frantic little voice at the back of my mind, shrieking shrilly: "OMG what if you've totally miscalculated everything and you end up not being able to afford anything else this month and you starve and default on all your payments and END UP ON THE STREET AIEEEEE!"

Rational? Not so much.

So, yeah. IKEA. Not a good place for my blood pressure to begin with, but what can you do?

I'm also going to bring the bicycle to Eddy's shop for a tune-up, since the chain came off the sprockets (or whatever they're called), and I want to make sure no irretrievable harm's been done. It's due for it's yearly tune-up in any case, and I'll ask them to put air in the tires while they're at it. That way I'll be able to take it to work again, and with any luck the gears will switch when I tell them to, and not 5-10 minutes later when it's no longer useful to me.

Depending on how hard I'm freaking out about the furniture, I may also pick up a couple of extra linen-type stuff too, today. All of mine is seriously starting to deteriorate from constant use.

Then there will be cooking for the week, possibly a nap, and the putting away of laundry. At 18:00 [livejournal.com profile] ai731 is coming by to pick up some mail, so with any luck I'll have finished most of my preparations by then.

Busy busy busy.

So that's my fascinating world today. Aren't you glad you asked? ;)

The little hamster on the wheel in the back of my head is SCREAMING at the amount of money I spent today, even though it was in the budget and I planned for it and I know it's okay.

SCREAMING.

Oy.

You'd think I'd be over these little neuroses by now. :P

Anyway, I ended up not getting anything other than the sofa-bed, because the little hamster was screaming too loudly. (Sorry, [livejournal.com profile] ankhorite: my hamster appears to be more neurotic than average)

So I'll probably head back to IKEA next week, or maybe even someday this week, to get the bookcases and TV stand. Is anyone out there interested in coming with me? That way I can enlist help in schlepping the stuff (it's too heavy for me on my own), thus saving me a whackload of money for delivery services, and offer a car ride to IKEA in exchange.

Anyone interested? Bear in mind I'd be going on a weekday, although an evening trip could probably be arranged, even this week.
