No, really. If you're going to sue someone who owes you money, how much of a no-brainer is it to fucking show up for your court date?!?!?

I mean, holy shit, man!

I just had to explain a legal letter to my boss that was a judgment rendered against the company because they were a no-show to their court date. She's surprised that they lost, because the other company owes them money, so they should have won. She's also shocked that our company now has to pay the court and legal fees.

She never went to court because she was on vacation!

>_<

I give up.

I had a blast. You can actually see a nice picture of me in [livejournal.com profile] fearsclave's LJ here. The first guy, looking like a l33t f1sh1ng n1nj4 is, of course, [livejournal.com profile] fearsclave, and the cheerful-looking girl underneath is me.

I have a lot of projects going on in my head lately. I can't get them all going now, especially not with the Massive Moving And Changing Of Work Wigout (MMACOWW) that I'm in the process of doing right now, but they are on the whole good and healthy and fun projects.

Some involve finances, some involve sports, some involve the outdoors, some involve crafts (the kind involving glue and yarn and shit, not the other kind), some involve art (other than crafts), some involve travel, and some involve gaming.

In other words, a metric assload of projects, and not really enough time to devote to them all, especially not now.

I'm trying to work all this out in my head, and perhaps eventually this will make its way onto paper.

I need some space. Not now, but I'm going to be taking it this summer. About a week's worth, probably after I visit [livejournal.com profile] joane and [livejournal.com profile] shenlo in Halifax. I'm going to continue onward and maybe go to Prince Edward Island. I haven't decided if I'm going to gear up and do some camping (they have really nice spots to set up a tent and just stick around for a few days), which would be much cheaper, or go for what I did with my parents a few years back, which was go back to the place where I spent my summers as a child.

I just want a few days alone by the sea, to recharge and think and walk and do my own thing, without having to worry about other things.

I have a mandatory vacation due to construction holidays (isn't that cool?), so I'm planning to take full advantage of it to figure out some important things.

Of course, things are going to be changing before then, too. But I figured I should write down this big decision before I waffled and changed my mind about it. If it's written down, then somehow it's more concrete, and it's harder to go back on my word.

Baaaa...

I haven't done a meme in a while.

So... what song do you think best encapsulates me? Reciprocate in your own journals and all that. :)

Rationality: 62/100
Constructiveness: 62/100
Leadership: 42/100

You are a SRCF--Sober Rational Constructive Follower. This makes you a White House staffer.

You are a tremendous asset to any employer, cool under pressure, productive, and a great communicator. You feel the need to right wrongs, take up slack, mediate disputes and keep the peace. This comes from a secret fear that business can't go on without you--or worse, that it can.

If you have a weakness, it is your inability to say "no." While your peers respect you, they find it difficult to resist taking advantage of your positive attitude and eagerness to take on work. You depend on a good manager to keep you from sinking under the weight and burning out.

Of the 86785 people who have taken this quiz since tracking began (8/17/2004), 7.7 % are this type.

If you're curious, I got it here.

I vastly screwed up some billing. I'm not sure how. I think it can be fixed, but not by me. It would help if someone would explain the billing system to me properly rather than just letting me figure it out on my own, but whatever.

The Boss!Lady is on a rampage today, too. She's chewed out just about everyone in the office today over various matters, ranging from the trivial to the not-so-trivial (after announcing yesterday that she was PMSing, which is Not A Good Thing), and in a manner that was really rather unpleasant.

I'm not sure why I escaped unscathed. Maybe I'm special.

Oy. ^^;

Volunteering at the dance club tonight, then meeting [livejournal.com profile] foi_nefaste at Indigo tomorrow. Week is packed with fun social stuff! Woo!
