Not much to report...
May. 31st, 2004 03:27 pmSpent the week taking care of an elderly Jewish lady, and it went okay, all things considered. She was almost entirely deaf, had no short-term memory to speak of, and was a wee bit senile, but we got on pretty well.
The beginning of the week was stressful, but once I got a handle on how things were supposed to be done it was fine.
I also got paid, which was nice.
I might have a job possibility, but I guess even mentioning it here might be jinxing the whole affair. Every time I say these things out loud or in writing they seem to fall through. Keep your fingers crossed, folks. :)
My parents are now both in Europe, since yesterday. Drove the Maternal Unit to the airport, and I have an entire month Parental Unit-free. Here's hoping that I get a job while they're gone.
Do you know? It's an entire year now since I quit my old job. It's a testament to how quickly humans forget pain that I sometimes truly regret quitting and not having a steady paycheck. Funny, that I would regret the company that made me so miserable I ended up vomiting blood at work. I guess I regret the paycheck more than the company.
So, here's hoping I find another job. I'm supposed to hear back from Thompson Tremblay soon about that. *crosses fingers*
