You're reading the timestamp correctly: as I'm typing this, it is currently past 4am and the birds are chirping outside.

Bridal shower = überrockage.

[livejournal.com profile] joane's mum is a sweetie (although I fully believe her when she says that she can be a massive handful, as my friends all think my mother is just the cat's pajamas).

Rich's mummy is a w00bie. :) Turns out Rich's sister and I have the same taste in kitchen supply stores, since we bought [livejournal.com profile] joane two different versions of the same sushi kit. 'Twas funny. I didn't get any prizes which were being given out during the fun little games that we played, since I was always kind of off but not as off as other people, so I got neither the "winning" prizes nor the booby prizes. Still had fun.

Zipped off to Vermont in the evening, got slightly drunk on Corona with Abi and Bryan, although American Corona is kind of nasty-tasting. Slept until 11am, which was a nice change from Insomnia!Phnee from the night before. Took A&B out for breakfast at Denny's, then went to meet Abi's little sister, her mother, her cat, her dog, and her father, in that order. All are v. nice and nifty in their own individual ways. Warmed up least to Abi's mother, but I think the poor woman was feeling a little harassed for reasons understandably unknown to me at the time, and having a random stranger appear in her house was probably not what she needed right then. She was very nice with me, though. :)

Am typoing this entry six ways till Sunday.

Went to see Finding Nemo after that, sniffled and laughed my way through the movie, and thoroughly appalled A&B, who kept trying to assure me that it was "just a movie" and "not real." They have yet to sit with me through a movie in which I actually talk, as Disney and Pixar pictures tend to push all my major emotional reaction buttons as opposed to my ironic/compulsive commentary buttons.

After that, since I'd had a bagful of Twizzlers and the Canadian equivalent of a large Diet Pepsi, I appalled them further by being really, really hyper, complete with hysterical giggling and much flapping of hands. I think they may be having second thoughts about me: the two of them seem to be generally very calm and mellow at all times, and I think I must disrupt their rhythm a lot. *wibble* Problem is, I don't know how to be any way other than I am: sometimes I'm calm and other times I'm not. :P

Anyhoo... we had ice cream after that, which didn't actually help my coming down from the sugar high after that, but didn't actually increase it or anything (I was just about maxed out anyway), and after that I hopped in the car and drove back to Montreal.

Spent the last... *counts* eight hours drinking and talking with [livejournal.com profile] curtana, [livejournal.com profile] forthright, [livejournal.com profile] xypharan and [livejournal.com profile] elanya, as well as [livejournal.com profile] gats, [livejournal.com profile] sorceror and [livejournal.com profile] ipanicked, the last three of whom had the good sense to leave around 11pm and earlier. I, on the other hand, did not display such a keen grasp on common sense, and stayed until about 4am.

I have since decided that it would *really* screw up my sleeping patterns if I went to bed now, so I'm going to stay up, probably have a nap this afternoon, and then try to go to bed early. Otherwise I'm never going to get on a normal sleep schedule ever again.

So, yeah

I leave town for two days and I had to scroll back 240 entries to be caught up!

Lessons in people-thwacking have been postponed unti later tonight (around 8pm), so am futzing around doing not too much.

Have worked a bit on the Sweater o' Doom, and now have nine inches finished on the back piece. I don't think it'll be finished in time for the 23rd, when my parents get back, but if I spend a lot of time on it in the next two weeks I ought to have something to show for it. That's my hope, anyway.

The wool is a right bitch to work with, though, as it's very stiff and purposefully woven in unequal thicknesses, and given that I have to pay close attention to my work I generally either have to take lots of breaks or end my session with knots in the muscles of my fingers, hands, arms, shoulders, neck and back. Evil stuff. I really hope that A) my mother likes it and B) it'll fit her properly. It would suck if it was too small. :P

The FFEs have been clingy, which should surprise no one. They haven't broken anything in the apartment, which is a feat in itself.

I hope tonight's lessons are more theoretical than practical, as I am wiped. I just don't have the energy of my youth, when I was able to pull all these one-nighters with no difficulty.
